Lima Classic "Lifers" Club
With over 225 unique golfers playing in the Lima Classic through its six year history, you would think there are a large number of player who have played in the event every year.

Well, you would be wrong.

The Lima Classic "Lifers" is an elite club of golfers who have played in the Lima Classic
EVERY year, and also share one common bond:

None of them have ever won the Classic...

Sadly, the Lima Classic "Lifers" are a dying breed.  As each year passes there is an increased possibily that one of the "Lifers" may not be able to play the next year, effectively removing him or her from this prestigous club.

To all of the current "Lifers," please enjoy your status while you have it...
Bill Thorpe...  Widely known as the "best golfer to never win the Lima Classic", Bill has always been a gracious loser.  By gracious, we mean he's had a lot of practice.  Bill is just your average member of the "Lifer's Curse Club" - always near the leaderboard, but just a shot or two off the pace.  Well, Bill, now you know what it USED TO feel like to be a Red Sox fan.
Jennifer Lima...  Known in many circles as the "Lady Launcher", Jen has earned the distinction of being the longest female hitter in the tournamnet.  True, only 3 other women play each year, but that doesn't diminish her accomplishments on the course.  Jen's a tough competitor - she once stepped in front of someone's tee-shot to thwart their chance for a birdie.  Did I mention that she's a comptetitor?   She even changed her last name to Lima to help her chances at that elusive first win.  But, alas, the "Lifer Curse" was too strong, as her team finished dead last in 2002.
Dave Neff… Never underestimate the power of the Neffer.  A top-notch golfer in high school, over the years the Neffer has let his game slide.  Saddled with the pressures to provide for his new family, golf has taken a back seat.  But don't think for a minute that he can't take out a 3-wood and blast it 230. Unfortunately, it is usually 230 into the woods, a bunker, snap-hooked into the water, or possibly the course beverage cart.  In his hey-day he once had a hole-in-one, but the best any team with the Neffer on-board can hope for now-a-days is a positive attitude, jokes, a fun day at the course, and a shank or two.
John Dolan… Once a member of the ill-fated "we can't lose and you are crazy for putting me on this stacked team" (they finished last that year), John has worked over the years to transform himself into a very solid golfer.  He is also usually among the best dressed golfers at the Classic, usually sporting the finest Ashworth shirts, neatly pressed shorts, and a bagful of gleaming clubs.  Because of his neat appearance, most Lima Classic golfers have quietly dubbed John "The Lima Dandy."  Unfortunately, John's performance at the Classic has been less than dandy.
Steve "The Dali" Lima… What can be said about the God-Father of the Lima Classic?  Every year Steve, or "The Dali" as he insists people call him, pours his own blood, sweat, and tears into the organization of the tournament.  For what?  His best showing was a tie for 3rd place in 2001.  But that just shows his character.  To consciously decide not win his own tournament so others can enjoy winning says a lot about the man.  After all, without Steve... the Lima Classic would just be... Classic.
